Monde Sauvage – Safari Park near Durbuy

Monde Sauvage is located near Aywaille, in the province of Liège. It is a wildlife park that does not follow one continuous walking route, but is divided into two parts: a safari section and a walking section. It is precisely this combination that makes a visit feel more flexible and allows you to experience the day in separate stages.

For many families, the visit begins or ends with the safari. This part is completed in your own car or, depending on the situation, in a park vehicle. You drive through different zones where large animals roam in open areas. Sometimes you pause, sometimes you move slowly forward; the pace develops naturally, together with other visitors along the route.

The walking section is spread across the site and invites you to continue at your own rhythm. You walk past enclosures, linger for a moment, move on to the next area and encounter different animals along the way. Alternating between driving and walking makes the visit more dynamic, especially for children who enjoy staying active.

How a visit usually unfolds

Many families treat Monde Sauvage as a day trip, alternating between the safari and the walking areas. Between the different zones, there are open spaces where you can pause or simply look around. Larger animals often draw immediate attention, while smaller species along the walking routes provide additional variety.

Food and drink outlets are located along the walking paths. These are mainly used for short breaks during the visit. In visitor experiences, it is often mentioned that the selection is relatively straightforward, which leads some families to plan their main meal before or after the park and keep the visit itself lighter. Because the park is spacious and largely outdoors, walking distances are part of the experience. The weather plays a clear role: on a dry day, it is easier to stay longer than when it is cold or wet. Combining both the safari and the walking section quickly fills several hours.
